Accommodation grading
For 2009, all accommodation grades have been based on a new set of common quality standards agreed by Visit Wales, Visit Britain, Visit Scotland and the AA. The star ratings reflect the facilities and overall quality of the experience.
Grades may therefore be different from previous years due to the new scheme's requirements. However, a change does not mean that the quality is any different so customers should not compare the previous star grading with the stars given for 2009.
A guide to quality assurance
All the accommodation featured on this website has been quality graded so you can make your choice in confidence, knowing that each place to stay has been given a star grading according to the quality and facilities on offer. Star grades mean that you can be sure of standards and choose the accommodation that's just right for you.
Visit Wales / AA are the only checking agents in Wales, checking out over 5,000 places. The Visit Wales stars are your guide to quality. The Star Quality Grading Schemes apply to all types of accommodation: serviced - hotels, guesthouses, bed and breakfast, farm accommodation, hostel/hotel type accommodation, self-catering cottages and apartments and caravan holiday home and touring / camping parks.

Accommodating visitors with disabilities
Visit Wales now recommends that all tourism operators prepare and make available an "Access Statement" to potential visitors. This is the only way of accurately describing accessibility in tourism premises.
When booking, please ask whether an Access Statement has been prepared for the premises in which you are interested.
