National Eisteddfod 2017

Anglesey is home to this year’s National Eisteddfod, with the Maes conveniently situated close to the village of Bodedern in north Anglesey.  Why not join us for a week to remember from 4-12 August?

The Eisteddfod is one of the world’s major festivals - attracting up to 150,000 visitors each year - and it's a truly unique experience.

With competitions, music, literature, drama, family activities, art, science, dance, shopping - and more - there's something for everyone at the Eisteddfod. There's nothing like the Eisteddfod, and this year, it’s taking place on the doorstep here in Anglesey.

The Eisteddfod is Wales' biggest festival, and attracts thousands of visitors to the area from across Wales and beyond. We are a travelling festival, visiting north and south Wales alternately, and hosting the Eisteddfod locally is a huge event, with the whole county part of the organising and the preparations.

The Eisteddfod is our chance to celebrate our Welsh identity and an opportunity to come together to enjoy the best that Wales has to offer in many areas . All eyes will be on Wales and Anglesey for a whole week , with hundreds of activities of all kinds held from morning till night.

There’s all kinds of performances on the Maes.  Come and enjoy shows for the youngest family members and meet some of the characters, enjoy plays by professional theatre companies from across Wales, or hear some of the latest groups in the Welsh pop scene on the Maes and in Maes B - the biggest Welsh pop music festival in the world!
