Plas Newydd Country House and Garden

Set on the shores of the Menai Strait amidst breathtakingly beautiful scenery the country house and garden are a must see on Anglesey
Set on the shores of the Menai Strait amidst breathtakingly beautiful scenery, this elegant house was redesigned by James Wyatt in the 18th century.
The 1930s restyled interior is famous for its Rex Whistler association, containing his largest painting and exhibition. A military museum contains relics of the 1st Marquess of Anglesey, who commanded the cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo.
The garden at Plas Newydd is one for all seasons. In the spring you can enjoy the five acre Rhododendron Garden, accessed along a woodland walk along the banks of the Menai Strait. In the summer the terrace garden is an explosion of colour. The autumn brings golden colours and masssed hydrangeas.
