Start from
Menai Bridge
Finish at
Brynsiencyn
Distance
About 10 miles

Begin your day with an aquatic adventure with a boat trip from Beaumaris or Menai Bridge, a thrilling way to see Anglesey from a different angle.

Travelling beneath the two bridges linking Anglesey to mainland Wales and through the notorious Swellies, a turbulent section of the Menai Strait known for its rocks, whirlpools and shipwrecks. As you go, your skipper will tell you stories of the sea and the various landmarks you’ll see along the way, including the Admiral Nelson memorial and the grand National Trust manor house Plas Newydd.

Lunch: Menai Bridge has many cafe's and pub lunches to offer.

After lunch, head south-west along the A5/A4080 towards Brynsiencyn. A mile or so after the town, turn left to follow the brown sign along a minor road to Anglesey Riding Centre at the edge of the Menai Strait.

It’s the start point for a host of horseback journeys along 5 miles/8km of private coastal bridleways, with spectacular views across the water to Caernarfon Castle and the peaks of Snowdonia beyond. Choose from a selection of an hour to an hour and a half rides and hacks, ranging from gentle, beginner-level trots to high-speed beach gallops for more experienced riders.
