Spend your morning getting to grips with Anglesey’s sea and shoreline on a half-day coasteering trip with Anglesey Adventures. Starting from pretty Porth Dafarch near Holyhead, this seriously splashy aquatic expedition will see you clambering over rocks, exploring hidden coves and making huge leaps into the crashing waves.

One of the UK’s fastest growing outdoor activities, coasteering gives a unique view of Anglesey’s natural environment, combining moments of peace and seclusion alongside pulse-pounding plunges and dramatic cliffside scrambles.

Dry off, then follow the minor road for a mile or so into Holyhead.

It’s back to the coast after lunch. Follow South Stack Road out of town and stop at the car park not far from Ellin’s Tower RSPB Reserve (what3words.com location: warmers.claps.doghouse). Here you’ll find the start/finish point of the circular Holyhead Mountain walk. Roughly 5 miles/8km in length and taking about 2.5 hours to complete, this gentle walk loops along the coast and around the slopes of Holyhead Mountain, the highest peak on the island.

Along the way you’ll see the rugged cliffs of South and North Stack, alive with thousands of seabirds, and enjoy spectacular views across Anglesey’s sea and landscapes. If you’re in the mood for a bit more of a challenge, take a short detour to Holyhead Mountain’s 220m summit for commanding 360-degree vistas across the island.
